Mains pressure boosting
Most multi-storey or multi-tenant commercial buildings outrun their incoming mains pressure long before the supply itself becomes the limit. A properly sized variable-speed booster set, with break tank, smooths flow under simultaneous demand, keeps top-floor outlets usable and protects appliances from cavitation. We size against actual peak demand, not nameplate capacity, and integrate with BMS for fault reporting.
TMVs, getting the grade right
Not every mixing valve is appropriate for every setting. TMV2 valves are commercial-grade for general use, TMV3 valves are healthcare-grade with tighter failsafe tolerances for care homes, hospitals and surgeries. We're TMV2/TMV3 trained, select the right valve per outlet based on use case, and provide an annual servicing schedule that satisfies CQC and HSE requirements.
Backflow protection, the audit point most installs fail
The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 categorise every appliance by contamination risk (Fluid Categories 1–5) and require a matching backflow protection device. We assess every outlet on a commercial install, fit the right device (single check, double check, RPZ where required) and schedule the annual RPZ testing that's mandated for Cat 4+ installations.
Legionella-aware pipework
Dead-legs, stagnant outlets, low-use taps and incorrectly set water temperatures are the textbook conditions for Legionella growth. ACoP L8 puts the obligation on the building duty holder. We design pipework to minimise dead-legs, keep hot above 55°C and cold below 20°C at outlets where possible, and document the system so your L8 risk assessment has accurate information to work from.
Cat A, Cat B and full fit-outs
On office Cat A handovers we install the shell plumbing, mains, risers, water heater provision, and capped points for tenant fit-out. On Cat B we work to the tenant's layout, washrooms, kitchens, point-of-use water heaters and any specialist plumbing. We work to the fit-out programme, attend site meetings and hand over certificated on completion.
